Our Mission.
Our mission is to help provide the most vulnerable children in Honduras with health, safety, education, and hope for a secure future.
Our Approach
We work in partnership with Honduras-based Sociedad Amigos de Los Niños (SAN) and other groups to provide food, clothing, shelter, and education to enable these children to lead self-sufficient and productive lives as adults.
Our Projects
Funding of a scholarship and education fund for promising students to attend university in Honduras and abroad
Administration of child sponsorship.
Organization and leadership of mission trips to help with construction and maintenance of SAN homes or food, medical and education brigades
Creation of a computer education and refurbishment center to teach computer use and repair
Development of marketing and grant materials to attract donors and sponsors
Hosting of a biannual Friends Gala dinner, dance, and silent auction to benefit SAN and FHC’s education and other special funds

Friends of Honduran Children, Inc. (FHC) was founded in 2001 in response to the desperate situation of children in Honduras, the fourth-poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. We are a public not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation established in Indiana.
