About Our Scholarship Program

Friends of Honduran Children provides financial assistance to students completing Grades 1-12 allowing them to apply for College/University/Trade School Degree.  This scholarship is based on financial need and awarded to recipients who qualify for and maintain the standards of the scholarships.

This Scholarship application allows Honduran students to submit their educational records, letters of recommendations from teachers or adult mentors, and a written personal essay with their history and career goals.

How It Works

FHC awards 15 scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 to each student.  Students are supported for 5 years to attain their degrees.  Annually these scholarships are reviewed for renewal.  Scholarship students can renew this scholarship by submission of their class record and a letter requesting continued scholarship support.

The spirit of this Scholarship/Assistance is to allow Honduran students an opportunity to seek higher education which would not otherwise be attainable for them.  We ask that students receiving this Scholarship “give back” to SAN in some way….work/volunteer/mentoring students upon earning their degrees.  In this way, these graduates understand the great opportunity they are receiving and will continue to support Sociedad Amgos de Los Niños.
